How to deploy a test in content area

Hello My name is Frank Newman. Welcome to this tutorial on how to deploy a test.

After you create a test, you make it accessible to students in a content area. This process is called deploying a test. Point to the Assessments tab, click Test and select a test in the list, then click Submit. A test by default is unavailable to users, change it to Yes. In the Test Availability options, you can allow multiple attempts, set a timer, manage the display time, etc. If students will take a test in the University of Houston testing center, click the options for Restrict Location, select Custom IP filter, and then type the testing center’s IP addresses below. Please note, you need to add a line of BLOCK * at the end to prevent access from any other location.

Set up other testing options and then click Submit. After a test is deployed, a column is generated in Full Grade Center.

You can modify questions and test settings after a test is deployed. Navigate to a test, click contextual menu. Select Edit the Test to change questions, and select Edit the Test Options to change test settings.

Video 3: How to Use Respondus Lockdown Browser to Secure Academic Honesty

Hello My name is Frank Newman. Welcome to this tutorial on how to use Respondus Lockdown Browser.

As its name suggests, Respondus Lockdown browser locks down the testing environment within Blackboard so that students are unable to copy, print, access other applications, or visit other websites during an online exam. University of Houston testing center requires that all exams hosted at their labs enable Respondus Lockdown Browser. For self-administrated online tests, it can also help prevent cheating during exam. (Note: show the downloading/instruction page for this paragraph)

You will need to deploy a test first, then on the Control Panel, under Course Tools, click Respondus Lockdown Browser. You will see all Blackboard tests displayed. Locate the test you want o lock down, click the drop down menu to the left and then select Modify Settings. Select “Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam” and then click Save and Close. When you see the test marked with Required, that means the lockdown browser was successfully added.

Thank you for watching the video.
